To promote certified organic products on the domestic market, Ukrainian organic producers participated in exhibition and fair events held across Ukraine in May – June 2025 with the support of Switzerland. The initiative was implemented by the Organic Initiative Public Association.
As part of this activity organic brands took part in two large-scale national events: the Kyiv Tea Festival 2025 and the international ethnic festival Kraina Mriy (The Land of Dreams) Festival.
The Kyiv Tea Festival, held on 17 – 18 May 2025, was a major event in the tea culture scene, attracting over 4,000 visitors to the National Complex “Expocentre of Ukraine” (VDNH) in Kyiv. The festival featured tastings, workshops, tea ceremonies, lectures, artistic performances, food pairing activities, and business discussions. More than 2,000 litres of tea were consumed, and particular interest was shown in organic tea blends.
Three Ukrainian producers of organic teas took part in the event:
- Kurinnyi Yevhenii, IE (TM Yanko Tea), Zakarpattia region
- Molfar Eco, LLC (TM MOL’FAR), Zakarpattia region
- Shans Vik, LLC (TM Travka), Volyn region
Over the two festival days, more than 30 tasting sessions were held, and over 120 units of organic tea products were sold at retail. This contributed to raising consumer awareness of organic products. In addition, the producers took part in discussions on marketing, promotion, and positioning of organic products during the festival’s business day.
The next event, which brought together eight Ukrainian producers from different regions of Ukraine, was the International Ethnic Festival “Kraina Mriy”. Initiated by renowned Ukrainian musician Oleg Skrypka, the event was held in Kyiv from 20 to 22 June 2025.
This event is one of the most vibrant cultural events in Ukraine, bringing together music, traditions, and crafts. First held in 2004, the festival has since become an annual gathering, attracting visitors from across Ukraine and around the world. This year, the event took place at the Hryshko National Botanical Garden and featured performances by music bands, craft fairs, and traditional Ukrainian handcraft workshops.
The following companies showcased their organic products at the festival:
- Brancho Ukraine LLC (TM Brancho), Zhytomyr region
- Danube Agrarian LLC, Odesa region
- Food for Thought LLC, Poltava region
- Kurinnyi Yevhenii, IE (TM Yanko Tea), Zakarpattia region
- Organic Expert, LLC (TM Osio), Kyiv region
- Organic milk LLC, Zhytomyr region
- Panfruit Ukraine LLC (TM Panfruit), Dnipropetrovsk region
- Shans Vik, LLC (TM Travka), Volyn region
Participation in this festival gave Ukrainian organic producers the opportunity not only to showcase their products to a wide audience, but also to engage directly with consumers, share insights into organic production principles, and highlight the benefits of organic products.
Over the three days of the festival, more than 900 people visited the producers’ stands. Over 20 tastings were held to present the advantages of organic products, and more than 15 new contacts were established with potential partners and retailers. Such direct communication plays a vital role in building consumer trust in organic brands.
The presence of organic brands at mass cultural events helps to raise awareness of Ukrainian organic products among consumers, support small and medium-sized organic enterprises, and contribute to the development of the domestic organic market as a whole.
Such initiatives demonstrate the importance of comprehensive support for the organic sector, including promotional activities that enable Ukrainian producers to strengthen their positions on the domestic market.
The participation of Ukrainian producers with their certified organic products as exhibitors at domestic fairs and exhibitions was organised by the Organic Initiative Public Association with support from Switzerland within the Swiss-Ukrainian Programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (QFTP), mplemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland).
