A comprehensive upgrade of the Dairy Module (hereinafter – DM) software used for the implementation of the the Raw Milk Control Programme (hereinafter – RMCP) in Ukraine has been completed. The work was carried out in accordance with the Roadmap for the Implementation of the Raw Milk Control Programme for 2024–2026, considering the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine and industry regulations.
The upgrade included strengthening the security of the system, stabilising the technical architecture, updating the user interface, and aligning the functionality of sampling and laboratory testing with current regulatory requirements. The capabilities of administration, reporting, and automatic notifications have been expanded, particularly in the event of positive test results for the presence of inhibitors.
“The implementation of the Raw Milk Control Programme and the upgrade of the “Dairy Module” are key steps towards improving the safety and quality of dairy products in Ukraine. This is important for all participants in the dairy sector, from producers and processors to laboratories and inspectors. The updated system provides transparent and understandable control mechanisms and brings national practice closer to the requirements and approaches of the European Union,” said Serhii Zakharin, Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection on Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization.
The upgrade of the DM ensures transparency, traceability and reliability of state quality control processes for raw milk, and creates uniform, understandable rules for all participants in the dairy market. The updated DM User Guidelines are available at the link.
For reference:
The RMCP has been implemented in Ukraine for seven years. Its purpose is to ensure regular monitoring by a competent authority of the implementation of periodic raw milk testing procedures by food business operators.
Within the framework of the RMCP, laboratory tests are carried out in accordance with the parameters specified by law – somatic cell count, total bacterial count, freezing point and residues of antimicrobial substances/ antibiotics. The results of laboratory tests are recorded in the DM, which ensures proper record-keeping and traceability, the frequency of sampling, the transfer of laboratory test results to interested parties and their statistical processing. The RMCP is being implemented by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection with the support of Switzerland within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian Programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (Quality FOOD Trade Programme, QFTP). More details about the RMCP can be found at the link and in the infographic.
