Top Ukrainian Organic Brands 2024

Ukraine has been among the top five exporters of organic products to the European Union for several consecutive years. Today, more than 60 different Ukrainian organic products are imported by 40 countries worldwide. At the same time, organic producers have strengthened their presence in the domestic market, with organic brands becoming more recognisable and consumers increasingly choosing these products for their shopping baskets.

To identify the best known Ukrainian organic brands, the media platform Brand Story Ukraine, in cooperation with the certification body Organic Standard, has created rankings of organic brands in different categories for the fourth consecutive year. In 2024, five rankings were compiled:

  1. TOP 10 Most Recognisable Organic Brands in Ukraine
  2. TOP 3 Organic Grocery Producers in Ukraine
  3. TOP 3 Ukrainian Organic Fresh Brands
  4. TOP Organic Dairy Producers in Ukraine
  5. Top 5 Ukrainian Exporters of High Value Added Oganic Poducts

These rankings include companies that lead in sales and have a significant impact on the organic market within their categories. Rankings are based on criteria such as production and sales volumes, brand presence in retail chains, and media and social media networks. Sales volume data were collected from organic market operators certified by Organic Standard. Since over 95% of operators producing, selling, and exporting organic products in Ukraine are certified by Organic Standard, these data are considered representative.

Organic products from the selection can be found in specialised organic stores and major national supermarkets in Ukraine, such as Goodwine, Winetime, Metro, Silpo, Auchan, Velyka Kyshenia, Fora, Novus, MegaMarket, and others, as well as directly on producers’ websites.

In retail organic products are recognisable not only by individual branding but also by the Ukrainian state logo for organic products. From 1 July 2024, a certificate confirming organic production and the product’s organic status, in line with the Ukrainian legislation, is a mandatory requirement for selling organic products domestically. The product packaging must also display the state logo for organic products.

Creating these rankings increases consumer awareness and trust in Ukrainian organic products, enhancing their recognition among a wide range of other goods.

These rankings have been produced with the support of Switzerland within the Swiss-Ukrainian programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (QFTP), implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland).
