Amendments to the Organic Law of Ukraine have been adopted to prevent the trade cessation of organic products on the territory of Ukraine

On July 14, 2021, the Law “On Amendments to Section XI “Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On the Main Principles and Requirements to Organic Production, Circulation and Labelling of Organic Products” was adopted – the official web portal of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (rada.gov.ua).

The law is aimed at preventing the trade cessation of organic products in Ukraine due to the impossibility of complying with the requirements of the Law, as well as removing obstacles to Ukrainian producers receiving state support in the field of organic production and circulation of organic products.

The leading position in the development and promotion of the draft Law, which was registered on #5440 dated 29.04.2021, was taken by participants of the organic sector of Ukraine and government officials with the support of international programs/ technical assistance projects, in particular, by the Swiss-Ukrainian Program “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine”. The Organic Sector of Ukraine is grateful to the deputies-authors of the Bill for supporting the development of the organic market.
