To mark World Farm Animal Day on 2 October 2025, an online forum will be held with international speakers on “Sustainable Livestock and Animal Welfare – Ukraine 2025” will be held, aimed at raising awareness of how Ukraine’s livestock sector is undergoing transformation amid numerous challenges, including the ongoing war and the process of accession to the EU.
The event aims to raise awareness of the urgent need to finalize the alignment of the national legislation with EU animal welfare standards and to ensure effective implementation of rules for the keeping, transport, and killing of farmed animals. A functioning official control system is essential not only for Ukraine’s European integration but also for the development of international trade and the promotion of responsible, ethical livestock production.
