On June 23, State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office” in the framework of the state project Diia.Business together with the Organic Standard certification body and Organic Initiative, and supported by Switzerland within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian Programs “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (QFTP) and “Organic Trade 4 Development in Eastern Europe” (OT4D) held an international online conference “Organic Export During the War”.
Main topics that were discussed:
Overview of the organic sector of Ukraine and its’ export potential during the war;
Liberalization of access of Ukrainian products to the EU market;
Certification of organic production, organic legislation of Ukraine;
Success stories of cooperation between Ukrainian organic producers and international buyers in recent months;
Alternative logistics routes to different EU countries;
International events in the organic industry, where Ukraine will participate.
The event gathered together 160 participants, including more than 50 representatives of foreign companies from Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Swiss, Austria, Belgium, Poland, and other countries.
Representatives of European Commission, Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food in Ukraine, State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office”, Organic Standard certification body, Swiss-Ukrainian Programs “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (QFTP) and “Organic Trade 4 Development in Eastern Europe” (OT4D), Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, and also Ukrainian and international experts and partners were disclosing problems of the organic sector and proposing solutions to these issues.
Also, within the framework of the online event “Organic Export During the War” the Office together with partners developed the Catalogue of Ukrainian organic exporters 2022, which includes about 100 national producers of organic products.
We want to thank our partners for organizing the event, their involvement in the problems of organic market players and the opportunity to reveal the export potential of the organic sector of Ukraine to the international community.
