Since 2002, the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine has supported the development of the organic market in Ukraine by implementing various technical assistance projects. Swiss-Ukrainian projects join their efforts to bring as much benefit as possible to develop the capacity of organically certified producers in Ukraine.

Thus, Swiss-Ukrainian Program “Higher Value-Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine”, implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland) and supported by Switzerland cooperates with the project “Ukraine Agriculture Capital Markets Development”, implemented by International Finance Corporation (IFC) with the support of Switzerland. The overall objective of the Project is to improve access to finance to the agricultural sector in Ukraine by increasing the use and strengthening the crop receipts as an agri-finance instrument and preparing the instrument as a strong asset class for securitization.

Despite the full-scale war, organic companies took advantage of crop receipts, receiving funds as collateral for their organic crops for the period of 2022-2023:

Creditors who provided crop receipts were OTP Bank JSC, Adama Ukraine LLC, Syngenta LLC, Bank Alliance JSC, and others.

Information on how to work with crop receipts is available at the link.
