On January 21, 2022, the online training “State Support for Organic Sector Development: Experience of the EU” took place. The objective of the training was the capacity development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and  Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Andrii Kravchenko, the Deputy Director of the Department of Agrarian Development of theMinistry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine noted the importance to have a clear methodology of the state support for organic production for specialists of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

During the speech, the invited expert and speaker Andrea Hrabalová, the Consultant for statistics and data on organic farming of the Czech Technology Platform for Organic Agriculture, provided detailed examples and practical tools for calculating subsidies for organic agriculture in the EU and shared international experience in supporting the organic sector by the state.

This training was organized upon the request of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine in partnership with Organic Ukraine NGO with support of Switzerland within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian Program “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine”, implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland).
