On May 10, 2023, representatives of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, and the QFTP program team visited Ukrainian organic market operator Chemex LTD LLC (ProOrganica TM).

Chemex LTD has a history of more than 20 years in business. In 2020, the company launched its new organic processing plant in Kyiv region. Chemex LTD supplies premium quality organic ingredients and ancient grains under the brand name ProOrganica for the EU and UK food and feed industry. The company works with certified organic small to medium size Ukrainian farms, ensuring full traceability and transparency throughout the entire supply chain. The processing plant dehulls, sorts, cleans and packs organic products in line with the EU organic and food safety requirements together with specified customer requirements. Storage facilities allow raw materials and cleaned grains to be stored separately in dry and well-ventilated space with a total area of 2,235 sq m. All products are certified in accordance with the EU organic and Swiss standards (BioSuisse). The Food Safety Management System has been successfully implemented and certified according to IS0 22000:2018. The company cooperates with independent accredited laboratories in Ukraine, the EU and UK to confirm quality, safety, and organic status of all the raw materials and products. Each year the representatives of Chemex LTD participate at the international fairs for organic products under the brand name ProOrganica like Biofach (Germany), Natural&Organic Products Europe (UK), Middle East Organic&Natural Expo (UAE) and Sana (Italy).

The company produce grain and leguminous crops. The company’s processing facilities are located in the de-occupied territory of the Kyiv region. Despite all the difficulties caused by the full-scale russian invasion, the company continues to provide jobs, create products with higher added value, export and supply its products to the domestic market.

Chemex LTD was a participant of the Ukrainian Pavilion at the largest international exhibition of organic products BIOFACH in 2022 and 2023, which was organized with the support of Switzerland within the framework of QFTP.

With the financial support of the Swiss-Ukrainian programs QFTP and OT4D within the Organic Initiative Grant Program “Support of organic sector in Ukraine” the company has received funds for certification according to the organic production and processing standards, which is equivalent to EU regulations and the Swiss BIOSuisse standard.
